The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) led the release of 2,150 Olive Ridley sea turtles in Sitio Wawa, Barangay Pag-asa, Bagac, Bataan.

According to the Coast Guard Sub-Station Bagac (CGSS) Bataan, this collaborative effort ensures that the hatchlings are safely released into the ocean.

Experts highlight that this process helps the turtles navigate their way back when they are ready to lay eggs.

In line with its mandate to protect marine life, the PCG continues to support conservation efforts through the enforcement of environmental laws and public awareness campaigns.

Representatives from the Bagac Municipal Administrator’s Office, the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) Bagac, Bagac Tourism, and the Pag-asa Pawikan Protection and Conservation Center joined the PCG in this initiative.
