Local Government Units (LGUs) in Region 2 have carried out preemptive evacuations in high-risk areas as Super Typhoon Uwan approaches.
According to the Cagayan Valley Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CVDRRMC), the move is part of ongoing disaster preparedness and response efforts under CVDRRMC Memo 145, series of 2025.
The latest report from the Cagayan Valley DRRM Operations Center (CVDRRMOC) confirmed that around 2,162 families or 6,250 individuals from 132 barangays have been safely evacuated.
Authorities stressed that early evacuation is critical to ensuring the safety and welfare of residents in vulnerable communities.
CVDRRMC Chairperson underscored the urgency of completing forced evacuations before 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2025.
LGUs are also preparing evacuation centers and ensuring adequate supplies and assistance for displaced families.
