One Dead, Two Injured in Motorcycle Crash

One of the back riders died while two others, including the driver, were injured after their motorcycle crashed into a streetlight in Barangay Santa Fe, Pilar, Capiz.

The motorcycle driver was identified as alias “Rolando,” 46 years old, while his back riders were alias “Raul,” 59 years old, and alias “Herbert,” 36 years old, all residents of Barangay San Esteban in the same town.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Pilar Municipal Police Station investigator PSSG. Jaypee Tomogda stated that the incident occurred at 10:50 a.m. while they were traveling on a Honda TMX 125 motorcycle from their place and heading to their boss’s house in Barangay Santa Fe when the driver accidentally lost control.

Due to the strong impact, alias “Raul” was thrown off and his head hit the streetlight, causing fatal injuries.

The driver and the other back rider, alias “Herbert,” sustained minor injuries.

The injured were immediately responded to and taken to the nearest hospital, but alias “Raul” was declared dead on arrival by the doctor.

According to Tomogda, based on eyewitnesses, the driver of the motorcycle was speeding.

It was learned that the individuals were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
