The Supreme Court has not issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) regarding the petition filed by former President Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Ronald dela Rosa seeking to prevent government agencies from cooperating with the International Criminal Court (ICC) in its drug war investigation.

In a statement, Supreme Court spokesperson Atty. Camille Ting said Duterte’s camp failed to establish a clear and unmistakable right to justify the issuance of a TRO.

However, Ting added that the Supreme Court has directed the respondents to submit their comments on the petition for a TRO and a writ of preliminary injunction within ten days of receiving the notice.

Meanwhile, ICC Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan described Duterte’s arrest as a significant moment for the alleged victims of the war on drugs.

Khan emphasized that the issuance of an ICC arrest warrant against Duterte is a crucial step for justice.

He also noted that while many claim international law is weak, unity in upholding the rule of law can prevail.
