The Office of the Vice President (OVP) submitted a bogus acknowledgement receipt under the name “Mary Grace Piattos,” according to Rep. Joel Chua.
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported that no record exists for an individual named Mary Grace Piattos in their database.
Rep. Chua, Chairman of the House Blue Ribbon Committee, said the PSA findings would be included in the committee’s final report.
He confirmed receiving the certification from the PSA, which was also forwarded to committee members for review.
Chua revealed that they suspected irregularities upon seeing the signed receipt and had it validated by the PSA.
He added that the committee might verify other names listed on the acknowledgement receipts.
Chua also sought assistance from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to authenticate the signatures, including that of a certain Kokoy Villamin.
The lawmaker stressed the need for accountability to ensure those who violated the law are held responsible.
