The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has filed multiple criminal complaints against 10 police officers involved in serving a fake arrest warrant and robbing a woman’s home in Taguig City on Sunday, February 9.
The complaints, submitted to the Taguig Prosecutor’s Office, include Robbery, Grave Coercion, Physical Injury, Obstruction of Justice, Malicious Mischief, Violation of RA 7610, Unlawful Arrest, and Violation of Domicile.
In a statement, the NCRPO said the charges were based on the officers’ illegal actions and their degree of participation in the unauthorized operation.
The agency assured that the cases are “airtight” and supported by strong evidence gathered during the investigation to ensure justice for the victims.
Meanwhile, the Department of Justice (DOJ) is set to review the complaints before filing them in court.
The involved police officers will also undergo an administrative investigation.
NCRPO acting regional director, Police BGen. Anthony Aberin, has ordered the immediate dismissal of the 10 police officers from their posts.
Additionally, PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Marbil has directed all police units to strictly follow operational procedures and ethical standards while ensuring a thorough investigation of the incident.
