Both victims are residents of Barangay Sawang in the same town.

The Elf truck driver was identified as 53-year-old Alverson Gapos.

According to CCTV footage, the Elf truck was en route to the town of Ubay when an L300 van, owned by an express delivery company, attempted a U-turn to back into a parking spot.

Due to the Elf truck’s speed and in an attempt to avoid a collision with the van, the vehicle struck the motorcycle crossing into the opposite lane.

Tobio is currently recovering in the hospital.

Authorities have urged the public to prioritize assisting victims or calling emergency services instead of taking videos during similar incidents.
