Motorcycle Driver Killed After Being Run Over by Dump Truck

DAVAO CITY – A motorcycle driver was killed after being run over by a dump truck on the Davao-Digos National Highway in Brgy. Binugao, Toril District, Davao City, around 11 a.m. today.

According to a report from the Traffic Enforcement Unit of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), the victim was identified as Melchor, 58, a resident of Imelda Bunawan, Agusan Davao Del Sur, who was driving a Honda XR 150.

The dump truck driver was identified as Epefanio Jr., 48, a resident of Murcia, Conception Tarlac, driving a Sinotruck Hoka Dump Truck.

The investigation revealed that both vehicles were traveling along the highway, with the motorcycle in the middle lane and the dump truck in the inner lane.

Witnesses stated that the motorcycle suddenly veered to the right in front of Ever Grand Steel Corporation, colliding with the dump truck.

The victim was thrown under the truck, which ran over his head, leading to his immediate death.

The witnesses noted that the incident happened so quickly that the truck driver did not notice until it was too late.

The victim’s body has been brought to Villa-Gan Funeral Homes in Toril, Davao City, while the dump truck driver is now in police custody for further investigation.
