A Super Huey helicopter of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) crashed in Loreto, Agusan del Sur on Tuesday morning, November 4, 2025, while on a humanitarian and disaster response mission amid Typhoon Tino.
According to the Eastern Mindanao Command (EastMinCom), the aircraft was en route to Tactical Operations Group 10 in Butuan City to support relief operations in storm-affected areas when it went down.
The helicopter reportedly departed from Davao at 10:55 AM and was carrying six personnel when it crashed between the towns of Loreto, Agusan del Sur and Laak, Davao de Oro.
As of this writing, rescue and recovery operations are ongoing, with EastMinCom coordinating closely with local emergency response teams to locate and assist the crew.
Residents near the crash site reported seeing what appeared to be burned wreckage, though the military has yet to confirm the condition of those on board.
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined, and an investigation is underway to assess whether weather conditions or mechanical failure played a role.
EastMinCom has appealed for public understanding and prayers as they continue their efforts and promised to release further updates once more information becomes available.
