NCRPO Director Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin attributed the decline to intelligence-driven operations, increased police presence, and stronger community cooperation.

Among the notable reductions, murder cases fell by 41.94%, from 31 to 18 cases, while homicide cases dropped by 25%, from 12 to 9 cases.

Cases of physical injuries and rape also saw nearly a 50% decline, with physical injuries decreasing from 57 to 29 cases and rape incidents dropping from 91 to 46 cases.

Robbery cases went down by 33.73%, from 83 to 55 cases, while theft cases decreased by 33.62%, from 229 to 152 cases.

Carnapping cases also declined, with vehicle carnapping down by 57.14%, from 7 to 3 cases, and motorcycle carnapping decreasing by 11.43%, from 35 to 31 cases.

Meanwhile, Aberin reported an 8.68% improvement in crime solution efficiency, rising from 67.71% in February 2024 to 76.38% in February 2025.

Crime data is based on verified records from the Crime Information, Reporting, and Analysis System (CIRAS), acknowledging possible gaps between statistics and public perception.

Aberin emphasized that the NCRPO remains committed to bridging this gap, ensuring that improvements are reflected not only in data but also in the daily lives of residents.
