Mechanic Arrested for Stabbing Drinking Companion in Cauayan City

CAUAYAN CITY – A mechanic was arrested for allegedly stabbing his drinking companion during a heated argument in Barangay Sillawit, Cauayan City, Isabela.

The victim, identified as alias Makmak, 27, a mechanic from Barangay Maligaya, Cauayan City, was stabbed by the suspect, alias AJ, 24, an automotive mechanic from Cabisera 3, San Antonio, Ilagan City.

According to police investigation, the group, including both the suspect and victim, had been drinking at their bunkhouse.

After consuming several bottles of alcohol, the group decided to go to a bar in San Fermin, Cauayan City, where they hired a dancing entertainer and brought her to a hotel in Barangay Sillawit.

After a few hours, the victim and another companion returned to their bunkhouse, leaving the suspect behind without transportation.

Enraged, the suspect followed the victim back to the bunkhouse, leading to a heated argument.

During the altercation, the suspect allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed the victim.

The victim managed to escape and sought help from their companions.

A concerned citizen tried to disarm the suspect, but the knife fell to the floor.

The victim sustained injuries and was initially rushed to Cauayan City District Hospital by Rescue 922 personnel.

He was later transferred to a private hospital for further medical attention.

A follow-up police investigation resulted in the suspect voluntarily surrendering. He is now in the custody of the Cauayan City Police Station.
