Malaysia refuses to cooperate with the Philippine government regarding the investigation into how Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo escaped the country.

Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla confirmed that Malaysia has not been providing any information on Guo’s entry into their territory.

Remulla suggested that Malaysia might be avoiding discussions due to the long-standing territorial dispute between the two countries over Sabah.

Despite repeated inquiries from the DOJ, Malaysian authorities have not disclosed how Guo arrived in their country.

Malaysia has also withheld flight records and details of the aircraft used in Guo’s escape.

The Philippine Senate earlier launched an investigation into Guo’s disappearance, where the Bureau of Immigration admitted that she used a backdoor route through Tawi-Tawi to reach Sabah.

Guo, also known as Guo Hua Ping, was arrested in Indonesia in September last year after facing multiple cases related to illegal POGO operations.
