Former Senator Leila de Lima expressed her hope that former President Rodrigo Duterte recovers soon so he can have the strength to address the accusations against him, particularly concerning extrajudicial killings related to his war on drugs.

In an interview, De Lima stated that she wishes for the former president’s improved health so he can answer the issues surrounding him.

Duterte is unable to attend today’s Quad Comm hearing due to feeling unwell and needing rest.

This information was based on a short notice sent by the former president’s lawyer to the committee.

De Lima’s testimony is also highly anticipated, especially as she was one of the victims of the Duterte administration’s war on drugs.
