A cloud cluster above the Pacific Ocean formed into a low-pressure area (LPA) before sunrise on Friday, according to the state weather agency.
The LPA was observed at 3 a.m., 2,040 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
It stated the weather system was unlikely to hit the Philippine area of responsibility or intensify into a cyclone during the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) or band of clouds is expected to bring cloudy skies, isolated rainfall, and thunderstorms to the Zamboanga Peninsula, Soccsksargen, the Bangsamoro, Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, and Davao del Sur.
The ITCZ will produce partly cloudy to cloudy sky, with isolated thunderstorms or rain showers throughout Visayas, Palawan, and the rest of Mindanao, according to PAGASA.
The Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol Region might encounter partly overcast to cloudy skies with scattered rain showers or thunderstorms as a result of easterlies or warm Pacific winds.
The weather agency also stated that Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may suffer localized thunderstorms.
