House Deputy Majority Leader and Iloilo 1st District Representative Janette Garin has criticized Vice President Sara Duterte for her remarks against the police attempting to arrest Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, who is wanted on charges of child abuse, sexual abuse, and qualified human trafficking.

Garin argued that Vice President Duterte’s comments appear to defend Quiboloy and obstruct justice.

She emphasized that the charges against Quiboloy are serious and backed by evidence, which led to the court issuing a warrant of arrest.

Quiboloy, the leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), is also facing charges in the United States.

The lawmaker condemned what she saw as an attempt by the Vice President to divert public attention from the real issue.

Garin stressed the need for national leaders to act responsibly and be held accountable for their actions.
