The Kalinga Provincial Government has honored PAF Major Jude Salang-oy, one of the pilots who perished in the FA-50 fighter jet crash in Bukidnon on March 8, 2025.

Maj. Salang-oy, along with PAF Capt. Edzel Jonathan Bascuguin, was aboard a Philippine Air Force FA-50 aircraft conducting a routine training flight when it lost communication with ground control.

The jet later crashed in the mountainous area of Bukidnon, killing both pilots.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo Cauayan, Information Officer Aurora Amilig confirmed that the Kalinga government issued a resolution honoring Maj. Salang-oy for his bravery and sacrifice.

His remains were brought home yesterday, first taken to the Provincial Capitol for a necrological service and a hero’s welcome before being transported to his family’s home in Purok 1, Bulanao, Tabuk City.

He is set to be laid to rest on Saturday at Good Shepherds Memorial Park.
