A man was arrested during a hot pursuit operation in Barangay Palattao, Naguilian, Isabela, after being found selling illegal firearms and in possession of illegal drugs.
From information gathered by Bombo Radyo Cauayan from the Isabela Police Provincial Office, the suspect, known by the alias “Paulo,” was apprehended following a swift response to a tip-off from a concerned citizen regarding illegal activities.
Report from the Naguilian Police Station indicated that they received a call about the suspect selling a caliber .38 revolver in the area.
A checkpoint was immediately set up by personnel from the Naguilian Police Station, in coordination with PIU-IPPO and PIT, Isabela.
During the checkpoint, a motorcycle matching the suspect’s description approached but quickly turned around in an attempt to evade the authorities.
The suspect then headed into an alley in the said barangay, prompting the operatives to initiate an operation.
A caliber .38 revolver with four bullets was seized from the suspect, who failed to present the necessary documents for the firearm, leading to his arrest.
Additionally, a cellphone, Php 21,244.00 in cash, and four sachets of a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu were recovered from his possession.
