House Speaker Romualdez Office Debunks Stroke Rumors, Calls It ‘Misinformation’

The office of House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez denied rumors circulating online claiming that he suffered a stroke.

In a statement, Atty. Lemuel Erwin Romero, Head Executive Assistant to the Speaker, condemned the spread of false and malicious information.

Unverified reports alleging that Speaker Romualdez was confined in a hospital have been dismissed as completely untrue and designed to mislead the public.

Speaker Romualdez is in good health and remains fully committed to fulfilling his responsibilities with dedication and focus.

On December 6, 2024, he attended multiple official engagements, highlighting his active participation in legislative duties.

In the morning, he joined a ceremony at Malacañang Palace where two critical laws were signed: the Ligtas Pinoy Centers Act and the Student Loan Payment Moratorium During Disasters and Emergencies Act.

In the afternoon, he participated in the Year-End Celebration and Thanksgiving of the League of Provinces of the Philippines with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., governors, and senators.

During the event, Speaker Romualdez reaffirmed his commitment to collaborating with local government leaders.

The public is urged to rely solely on verified and official sources of information and reject disinformation intended to undermine trust in leaders and institutions.

Bukidnon Representative Keith Flores also cautioned the public to be vigilant about misleading social media posts that distort the truth.
