HE’S BACK | Former Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog is now back in the Philippines after seven years of living abroad.

Former Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog has returned to the country after nearly seven years of staying abroad. His return comes after being tagged as a narco-politician during the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

Upon his arrival at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 at around 11:00 AM, September 10, 2024, aboard a Cathay Pacific flight from New York, United States, Mabilog was met by operatives of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

NBI Director Jaime Santiago in an exclusive interview by Bombo Radyo, confirmed that Mabilog voluntarily surrendered to the NBI NCR personnel.

According to Santiago, Mabilog was served a warrant of arrest for violations of RA 3019 (Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act) and the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards.

The warrant of arrest was issued at NAIA Terminal 3 by the NBI-IAID in Pasay City.

Mabilog is currently in the custody of the NBI-IAID, undergoing processing. He was brought to Sandiganbayan and posted bail in the amount of 90,000 for his temporary liberty.

Mabilog is reportedly among the invited Resource Persons expected on Thursday’s resumption of the Quad Committee House Probe.
