La Union – A government hospital employee and two other individuals were arrested during a raid conducted by authorities in Barangay Camiling, Balaoan, La Union.
According to PDEA RO 1 Regional Director III Joel Plaza, the suspects were identified as Dexter Mendoza Labong, 31, single; Allan Opeña Mendoza, 50; and Rogelio Opeña Mendoza, 55, a government hospital employee.
All three are relatives living in the same compound in Barangay Camiling.
Authorities confiscated 20 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing approximately 10 grams of suspected shabu worth around PHP 68,000 from Dexter Labong’s residence.
Other items seized include a brown coin purse, self-sealing plastic sachets, disposable lighters, a digital weighing scale, a caliber .39 revolver with three bullets, and drug paraphernalia.
Meanwhile, at Allan Mendoza’s residence, authorities found two plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing about two grams and valued at PHP 13,600, along with six bullets for a caliber .55 firearm.
At Rogelio Mendoza’s residence, they recovered a white envelope with three sachets of suspected shabu weighing about one gram, worth PHP 6,800.
Additional items seized included drug paraphernalia such as aluminum foils with shabu residues, broken glass tooters, a digital weighing scale, and three new glass tooters.
The three suspects are facing charges under Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia) of Article II of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as well as charges under Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
The suspects are currently detained at PDEA RO I headquarters at Camp Diego Silang, Carlatan, San Fernando City, La Union.
