Five Dead in Tragic Motorcycle Collision

A motorcycle accident claimed five lives after two motorcycles collided head-on along Barangay Road in Brgy. Crossing Rubber, Tupi, South Cotabato, on March 2, 2025, at around 9:12 p.m.

The incident was confirmed by Jed Patrick Loreno, Emergency Medical Technician Team Leader of Tupi, in an interview with Bombo Radyo Koronadal.

The first motorcycle, a black XRM 125, was driven by alias “Boy,” a 20-year-old laborer from Brgy. Crossing Rubber, who had no driver’s license or OR/CR.

Two passengers were riding with him, identified as alias “Darel,” a 19-year-old laborer, and alias “Ikay,” a female of legal age from Brgy. Cebuano.

All three on the XRM 125 were killed in the crash.

The second motorcycle, a black Rusi 125, was driven by alias “Christian,” a 20-year-old private employee from Brgy. Crossing Rubber, who also had no driver’s license or OR/CR.

His passenger was alias “John,” a 14-year-old student from Brgy. Bololmala.

According to the initial investigation, the XRM 125 was traveling toward Brgy. Cebuano, while the Rusi 125 was heading in the opposite direction at high speed toward Brgy. Crossing Rubber.

Upon reaching the accident site, Christian (Rusi 125) lost control and veered into the opposite lane, resulting in a head-on collision.

Due to the strong impact, both motorcycle drivers and two back riders of the XRM 125 died instantly.

Meanwhile, alias “John,” the back rider of the Rusi 125, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead at around 3:30 a.m. on March 3, 2025.

Both motorcycles are now under police custody as authorities continue their investigation into the fatal crash.
