Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada has called on former Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson to disclose the name of his alleged Filipino-Chinese trader friend who was reportedly offered P1 billion by dismissed Bamban mayor Alice Guo to gain access to the first family.

Estrada stressed the need to stop speculating and urged Lacson to reveal the identity of the “friend” for the sake of transparency.

He suggested that if Guo truly had P1 billion, she could easily bribe whoever she wanted, but doubted that anyone would accept such a large amount, calling it an alarming sum.

However, Estrada noted that for someone like Guo, who runs a large business, P1 billion might not seem like a significant amount.

It was previously confirmed by Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz that there were attempts to reach out to him to assist Guo.

Cruz admitted that some individuals, including friends, tried to persuade him to help Guo, although the case involving Lacson’s friend involved a direct monetary offer.
