(Updated) Dismissed Mayor Alice Guo Arrested by Authorities in Indonesia

Former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, who was dismissed from her position, has been arrested by authorities in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) announced that Alice Guo, also known as Guo Hua Ping, was arrested in Tangerang City, Jakarta, Indonesia, at 1:30 AM on September 4, 2024, according to Police Senior Superintendent Audie Latuheru.

In an exclusive interview with Bombo Radyo, NBI Director Jaime Santiago stated that Guo is currently in the custody of the Indonesian Police at Jatanras Mabes Polri.

It was reported that Guo left the Philippines in April, accompanied by Shiela Guo and Cassandra Ong.

The former mayor is linked to illegal operations at a POGO hub in the country, particularly a scam hub raided in her town.

Efforts are underway to bring her back to the Philippines as soon as possible.
