These facilities play a significant role in protecting the Philippines’ sovereign rights in the West Philippine Sea.

Balabac is set to become a forward operating base for the Philippine Air Force, further bolstering the nation’s air defense capabilities.

The visit of Secretary Teodoro and AFP Chief Brawner highlights the commitment of the Department of National Defense (DND) and AFP to strengthen the country’s military infrastructure and ensure the protection of its sovereignty, amidst the ongoing aggression from China in the West Philippine Sea.
