Death toll from Cebu quake rises to 72 — NDRRMC

THE National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported Thursday that the death toll from the 6.9-magnitude earthquake in Cebu has climbed to 72.

According to NDRRMC, the fatalities were recorded in the following areas:

  • 30 in Bogo City
  • 22 in San Remigio
  • 12 in Medellin
  • 5 in Tabogon
  • 1 each in Sogod, Tabuelan, and Borbon

The agency also confirmed that 294 individuals were injured. A total of 47,221 families, or 170,959 individuals, were affected by the quake.

Authorities reported that 87 infrastructures sustained damage, while 597 houses were destroyed or partially damaged.
