Couple Killed in Motorcycle Collision with Van in Iloilo’s Tigbauan Town

A couple died after a utility van collided with their motorcycle in Brgy. Buyu-an, Tigbauan, Iloilo.

The victims were identified as Leonardo Tagamolila, 52, and Rhea Mae Tagamolila, 45, a teacher, both residents of Brgy. San Jose, Tubungan, Iloilo.

The van driver was Rommy Galas, 59, a resident of Alameda, Igbaras.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Police Captain Alfred Mansoy, Chief of the Tigbauan Municipal Police Station, revealed that the van was en route to the province of Antique when it attempted to overtake another vehicle.

The driver lost control, causing the van to crash into the couple’s motorcycle.

The victims suffered severe head injuries due to the strong impact of the collision.

Captain Mansoy said the couple was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

The area where the accident occurred is known for frequent incidents, often due to slippery road conditions.
