Businessman Dies in a Collision Between an SUV and a Closed Van

A businessman lost his life in a collision between an SUV and a closed van along the highway in Barangay Liwanag, Tumauini, Isabela.

The victim, identified as 57-year-old Jon Pascacio, a resident of Barangay Antagan 2nd, Tumauini, was driving a Honda CR-V when the accident occurred.

According to Tumauini Police Chief Major Melchor Aggabao, Pascacio was heading toward Ilagan City when his vehicle swerved slightly into the opposite lane and collided with an oncoming closed van.

The closed van, driven by Agosto Aprentado of Tanza, Cavite, veered off the road due to the impact, while Pascacio’s SUV was left wrecked on the highway.

Both drivers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital by responding rescuers, but Pascacio succumbed to his injuries while Aprentado remains under medical care.

Authorities are awaiting further discussions between the involved parties to determine if a settlement will be reached.
