Bumbero Partylist Nominee Fatally Shot in Sampaloc, Manila

Bumbero Partylist Nominee Killed in Manila Ambush as former party chairman Leninsky Bacud was gunned down in Sampaloc, Manila on Monday afternoon.

Authorities identified the victim as Leninsky Bacud, who previously served as chairman and was the second nominee of the Bumbero partylist.

According to an investigation led by Manila Police District (MPD) Director Police Brigadier General Benigno Guzman, witnesses reported that the gunmen were riding a motorcycle.

The suspects allegedly engaged responding police officers in a brief exchange of gunfire at the scene.

Bacud, who sustained a gunshot wound to the chest, was rushed to a nearby hospital but was later declared dead.

Several parked vehicles were also hit by stray bullets during the shootout.

Guzman confirmed that police are conducting a full investigation and an ongoing manhunt for the suspects involved.
