Boracay tourist arrivals surge in the first two months of 2025, reflecting a strong start for the island’s tourism sector.

According to data from the Malay Tourism Office, Kathrine Licerio reported that Boracay recorded a total of 374,958 tourist arrivals from January to February.

This figure is 602 more than the same period in 2024, indicating continued growth in visitor numbers.

Licerio noted that domestic tourists remained the dominant group, particularly in January, when celebrations like New Year’s Day and the Ati-Atihan Festival attracted large crowds.

With the summer season approaching, officials anticipate even higher tourist traffic in the coming months.

Preparations are underway for the highly anticipated Love Boracay event, which is expected to take place from April 25 to May 3.

Visitors can look forward to various activities, including international sporting events, beach parties, and other festivities.

The tourism sector remains optimistic that the appointment of South Korean singer-songwriter and actor Seo In Guk as the Philippines’ new celebrity Tourism Ambassador will draw more visitors.

Seo In Guk recently made his first visit to Boracay, marking a memorable experience on the island’s famous shores.

He will collaborate with the Department of Tourism (DOT) to promote the Philippines in the South Korean market and to his global fanbase.
