The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has arrested three South Korean nationals who were found to be working illegally at a private resort in Cavite.
The arrest was carried out on May 22 at a resort located within a subdivision in General Trias, Cavite, according to BI Intelligence Division Chief Fortunato Manahan Jr.
The suspects were identified as Oh Hyunsik, 51; Kim Haeyoung, 48; and Kim Seoyeong, 45.
The BI launched the operation in coordination with the Philippine Navy and the Philippine National Police after receiving a tip regarding the presence of undocumented foreign workers in the area.
BI records revealed that the three individuals were working without the necessary permits and visas, constituting a violation of Philippine immigration laws.
Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado commended the arrest and emphasized that all foreign nationals in the country are expected to comply with local laws.
The three Koreans will remain in the custody of the Bureau of Immigration at Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig, while deportation proceedings are underway.
