PBBM Leads Situational Briefing in Rizal on Typhoon Enteng Relief Efforts

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led the situational briefing this morning in the province of Rizal, which was severely affected by Typhoon Enteng.

During the meeting, the President requested the latest updates on the assistance being provided to families impacted by the typhoon.

The briefing was attended by key members of the cabinet, including DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, DHSUD Secretary Jerry Acuzar, and DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos, as well as MMDA Chairman Roman Artes.

According to the President, typhoon patterns have shifted, making them harder to predict than before.

The Chief Executive also shared the potential use of weirs, which he said have been proven effective in controlling water flow.

He noted that this technology is already being utilized in European countries such as France and Germany and has shown success in flood control.

The President described the weir as an ancient but effective technology and instructed officials to study the best users of this system to consider its implementation in the country.
