Government Operatives Criticized for Photo Ops with Fugitive Alice Guo

Senator Risa Hontiveros has called out government officials and operatives for taking photos with dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, also known as Guo Hua Ping.

Hontiveros, who chairs the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality, expressed concern over the incident amid ongoing investigations into Guo’s involvement in various illegal activities.

In a social media post, Hontiveros voiced her disappointment over the circulating photos, urging government personnel to exercise caution.

“Reminder to all government employees: Alice Guo is a fugitive. She has human trafficking charges. She is not a celebrity,” said Hontiveros.

Several of the photos show Guo with Immigration operatives and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents while in Indonesia.

Other images also feature Guo alongside Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Rommel Marbil and Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos.

As of now, both the PNP and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) have yet to respond to Hontiveros’ statement.
