2 Dead, 3 Injured in 9‑Vehicle Collision in Cavite

Two people were killed and three others were injured in a nine‑vehicle collision in Silang, Cavite.

The accident occurred along Tagaytay–Santa Rosa Road in Sitio Muzon, Barangay Puting Kahoy.

According to Col. Joseph Macatangay, chief of the Silang Municipal Police Station, authorities have identified the motorcycle rider involved, while another fatality has yet to be confirmed as to which vehicle they were riding.

Among the injured was a five‑year‑old girl who was crossing the road on her way to school.

CCTV footage showed that at around 7:20 a.m. on March 18, a 10‑wheeler truck traveling from Santa Rosa City, Laguna lost control and rammed the vehicles ahead of it.

Eight other vehicles were affected in the crash, including an SUV, a van, a car, a motorcycle, and several parked vehicles along the roadside.

After the collision, the truck continued moving until the driver parked it in a grassy area in Barangay Santo Domingo, Santa Rosa, before fleeing the scene.

Initial police investigation indicated that the truck reportedly lost its brakes while descending the area.

Authorities have already identified the truck driver and are now pursuing him to face multiple charges.
