MANILA — Immigration authorities have arrested a Chinese national at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) for allegedly misrepresenting herself as a Filipino citizen, in a case likened to that of controversial ex-Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo.

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) identified the woman as 43-year-old Wang Xiujun, who was using the alias Cassia Palma Poliquit.

She was apprehended on Sunday upon arrival at NAIA Terminal 3 via an AirAsia flight from Kuala Lumpur, according to a statement issued Monday.

BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado ordered the surveillance and eventual arrest of Wang after receiving intelligence from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) regarding her questionable identity.

Dactyloscopy results from the NBI confirmed that Wang and Poliquit shared identical fingerprint records, affirming they are the same person.

Wang reportedly holds a Philippine passport and a birth certificate acquired through late registration, despite being a Chinese national with an investor’s visa.

She is also suspected of operating electric vehicle businesses in Metro Manila under her fraudulent Filipino identity.

BI border control and intelligence officers immediately detained the suspect and transferred her to the bureau’s warden facility, where she will await deportation proceedings.

“The BI and the NBI have been strongly working together, leading to the arrest of key figures in identity theft and illegal use of Philippine documents,” Viado said.

The arrest forms part of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to locate and deport foreign nationals who blatantly violate Philippine immigration laws.
