Vice President Sara Duterte participated in the 39th anniversary celebration of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) yesterday.

The event took place while police forces continue their search for KOJC leader Apollo Quiboloy, who is currently a fugitive.

During the event, Duterte addressed KOJC followers, revealing that she was advised not to attend the celebration but chose to disregard the warnings.

She also reiterated her previous apology for convincing the KOJC to support then-presidential candidate Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Marcos and Duterte ran as a tandem under the Uniteam banner in the 2022 elections but have since parted ways after two years.

Duterte described the week-long police presence at the KOJC compound as “a crisis, a disaster.” Quiboloy is facing charges of child abuse and human trafficking.
