Filipino Catholics are continuously offering prayers for Pope Francis, the current leader of the Catholic Church.
Various churches across the country are conducting special prayers for the Pope’s recovery from his illness.
This comes after Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula issued an appeal urging parishes to include the Pope’s healing in their Mass intentions.
Church leaders continue to invite the public to pray for Pope Francis’ swift recovery.
Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) President Cardinal Pablo Virgilio “Ambo” David also encouraged Catholics to keep praying for the Holy Father.
“I hope we all continue to pray for our dear Holy Father, Pope Francis. You know already from the news that he is suffering from a serious case of pneumonia and he’s having difficulty breathing,” said Cardinal Pablo Virgilio “Ambo” David, the current CBCP president.
Pope Francis has held a special place in the hearts of Filipino Catholics, especially after his visit to the Philippines in 2015.
In response, the Archdiocese of Manila will hold a prayer vigil today for the Pope, led by Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula at the Manila Cathedral.
