A Filipina woman was killed in a tragic crash in San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, over the weekend after a stolen SUV slammed into her vehicle.
The suspect, a 40-year-old man, was behind the wheel of a Mercedes SUV that had been reported stolen.
He was fleeing from police at high speed when the SUV collided with a white Tesla driven by 46-year-old Christina David, a commercial mortgage professional.
The force of the crash was so intense that the Tesla’s roof was ripped off, and the car subsequently struck two other vehicles, injuring their drivers and passengers.
David, who was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt trauma, leaves behind a husband and two children.
Police apprehended the suspect immediately after the crash. Despite sustaining minor injuries, he is facing charges of vehicular homicide. His identity has not yet been released.
The incident remains under investigation.
