Grammy-winning Icelandic-Chinese music sensation Laufey is gearing up for the theatrical release of her debut concert film, ‘Laufey’s A Night at the Symphony: Hollywood Bowl.’
The concert film, featuring spell-binding performances from the multi-awarded singer, will have limited screenings in cinemas and IMAX theaters worldwide starting December 6.
It is also expected to be released across Asia, including the countries of Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, and the Philippines.
Filmed in her adopted hometown Los Angeles, California, ‘Laufey’s A Night At The Symphony: Hollywood Bowl’ is directed by Sam Wrench, who was also behind the record-breaking Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film.
The much-anticipated film is expected to take audiences on a captivating musical journey, with Laufey performing alongside the iconic Los Angeles Philharmonic.
“It’s always been a dream of mine to present my music with the LA Philharmonic. To be able to bring that concert to people way beyond LA and the Hollywood Bowl is so meaningful to me, especially as I come from so many different parts of the world, which have all played a part in inspiring my work and artistic journey,” Laufey shares.
‘Laufey’s A Night At The Symphony: Hollywood Bowl’ is produced by VEEPS Studios with Max Gredinger, Bianca Bhagat, Devin Dehaven, Kyle Heller, Michael Schneider, and Jessica Roulston, and is presented in cinemas by Trafalgar Releasing.
Filipino fans have shown much admiration for the singer over the years. In September, Laufey played her fourth sold-out show in Manila for the Bewitched: The Goddess Tour. It was her first time to headline an arena show in her career.
Laufey gained international prominence with her 2023 sophomore album ‘Bewitched’, which earned the 25-year-old artist the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. It also debuted at number 2 globally on Spotify and has set the record for the biggest Jazz debut in history on the music platform.
She is the biggest streaming artist from Iceland and has over 3 billion streams across all platforms.
