Sen. Lapid Pushes for Teacher Support During World Teacher’s Day Celebration

Senator Lito Lapid joined the celebration of World Teacher’s Day on October 4, alongside teachers in La Union.

In his speech, Senator Lapid emphasized the significant contribution of teachers to nation-building and shaping God-fearing, law-abiding youth.

He extended his greetings to the teachers, acknowledging their tireless efforts, sacrifices, and dedication to teaching good manners and right conduct to students.

Lapid expressed admiration for their hard work and determination to ensure the success of the youth for the future of the country.

The senator reiterated his belief that education is the most valuable asset that no one can take away.

He shared that he has pushed several laws in the Senate to support the needs of teachers nationwide, including salary increases and chalk allowances.

Among the proposals he filed in August 2023 is Senate Bill 2423, known as the Classroom Management Support and Protection for Teachers Act.

This bill aims to institutionalize protection for teachers and school personnel when handling disciplinary issues and establish mechanisms for classroom management.

Lapid stressed the importance of providing teachers with the necessary support as they are the foundation of education and the future of the country.

The celebration served as an opportunity to express gratitude and recognition for the vital role teachers play in shaping the future of the youth and the nation.
