Electrical Engineering Student Collapses and Dies in University Fun Run

An Electrical Engineering student at Isabela State University-Ilagan Campus tragically died while participating in the university’s Fun Run event.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo Cauayan, Engr. Alfonso “Cholo” Simon, Executive Officer of ISU-Ilagan, confirmed that the student collapsed and lost consciousness during the run, which was part of their Sports and Socio-Cultural Festival.

The student was identified as Timothy John Idago, a first-year Electrical Engineering student and a resident of San Fermin, Cauayan City.

According to Engr. Simon, the student received immediate first aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), but despite efforts, he did not survive.

The university administration has expressed deep condolences to the family and assured that they will hold discussions tomorrow to provide support to the student’s family.

Counseling and psychological first aid have also been provided by the university’s Guidance Office to the classmates of the deceased student.
