US Sends ₱28M in Humanitarian Aid for Typhoon Julian Victims

The United States has provided ₱28 million ($500,000) in humanitarian supplies and logistical support to assist those severely affected by Typhoon Julian in the Philippines.

The aid is being spearheaded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), offering emergency shelter, water, sanitation, and hygiene support.

The assistance will benefit around 4,000 families, or approximately 16,000 individuals.

According to the US Embassy in the Philippines, the US Department of Defense has mobilized military assets as of October 7 to provide logistical support to the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Office of Civil Defense, transporting humanitarian supplies from Manila to Batanes.

US Ambassador Marykay Carlson assured the Philippines of continued American support for those affected by Typhoon Julian.

She stated that the US is coordinating with Filipino partners and friends to help distribute humanitarian aid.

The US also highlighted that since 2010, they have provided ₱21.8 billion ($388 million) in disaster response, preparedness, and recovery assistance to the Philippines.
