Good News for Workers: Calabarzon and Central Visayas to Get Pay Raise

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has announced that workers in the Calabarzon and Central Visayas regions will receive a wage increase.

According to DOLE, workers in Calabarzon will see an increase of ₱21 to ₱75 in their daily wages. Meanwhile, workers in Central Visayas will enjoy a daily wage hike ranging from ₱33 to ₱43.

The wage increase will take effect on September 30 for Calabarzon, while workers in Central Visayas can expect the adjustment starting October 2, 2024.

With this wage hike, non-agricultural workers in Calabarzon will now have minimum wages between ₱450 and ₱560 per day, while agricultural workers will earn between ₱425 and ₱500. Workers in retail and service establishments with more than 10 employees will receive a daily minimum wage of ₱425.

In Central Visayas, workers in Class A areas will earn ₱458 to ₱501, Class B areas will have wages between ₱425 and ₱463, and Class C areas will receive ₱415 to ₱453.
