The Philippine National Police (PNP) will be filing charges against the parents of minor victims who were allegedly abused by Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.

According to PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo, the parents of the abused children were members of the KOJC and were aware that their underage children, as young as 12 and 13 years old, were being taken to the pastor’s room.

Col. Fajardo expressed disbelief at the parents’ willingness to turn a blind eye to such acts in the name of their faith, stating that it was wrong and that no parent should allow anyone to exploit their children.

The PNP official further stated that if sexual abuse against the victims is proven, their parents will also face legal consequences.

Meanwhile, PNP chief Gen. Rommel Marbil previously mentioned that several minors approached the police during their 16-day search of the KOJC compound in Davao City to seek help.

Col. Fajardo said that the PNP is now in the process of documenting the statements of the new victims and will be filing additional charges against the detained pastor, in addition to the ongoing legal proceedings.
