Trough of Tropical Storm Bebinca Affects Rest of Luzon

The Southwest Monsoon continues to affect Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, bringing monsoon rains, scattered thunderstorms, and heightened risks of flash floods and landslides, according to the latest advisory from PAGASA.

Meanwhile, the trough of Tropical Storm Bebinca, located 1,435 kilometers east-northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon, is influencing weather conditions across the rest of Luzon.

Tropical Cyclone Update

As of 3:00 PM today, Tropical Storm Bebinca (TS 2413) is positioned at 23.7°N, 135.4°E, outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). The storm has maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h and gustiness reaching up to 105 km/h, moving northwestward at 35 km/h.

Forecast Weather Conditions

  • Monsoon Rains are expected in MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Sorsogon, Masbate, and Negros Occidental, possibly leading to flash floods or landslides due to heavy to intense rainfall.
  • Occasional Rains will be experienced in the rest of Negros Island Region and the rest of the Bicol Region, with the risk of flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.
  • Cloudy Skies with Scattered Rains and Thunderstorms are forecasted for Metro Manila, Mindanao, CALABARZON, and the rest of Visayas. Flash floods or landslides are also possible due to moderate to heavy downpours.
  • The rest of Luzon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, brought about by the trough of Tropical Storm Bebinca. Flash floods or landslides remain possible due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

  • Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao: Winds will be moderate to strong, coming from the southwest, with moderate to rough coastal waters (waves 2.1 to 3.7 meters).
  • Rest of Luzon: Light to moderate winds from the northeast to northwest will prevail, with slight to moderate coastal waters (waves 0.6 to 2.5 meters).
