Former Iloilo Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog has voluntarily surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) NCR, as confirmed by NBI Director Jaime Santiago.

Mabilog was served a warrant of arrest for violations of Republic Act 3019 (Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act) and the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.

The warrant of arrest was served at NAIA Terminal 3 by the NBI-IAID in Pasay City. Mabilog is currently under the custody of the NBI-IAID, undergoing the legal process.

He will be brought to the Sandiganbayan for the return of his warrant of arrest.

Mabilog had been in hiding for seven years after being accused of involvement in illegal drugs. In 2017, then-President Rodrigo Duterte ordered a lifestyle check on the former mayor, but Mabilog strongly denied the allegations.

Meanwhile, the quad committee has urged Mabilog to attend the hearings and present any relevant information he may have.
