28-Year-Old Man Dies After Drowning in 5-Foot Deep Pool at Laoac Resort

DAGUPAN CITY – A 28-year-old man was declared dead on arrival at a hospital after drowning in a resort pool in Laoac, which has a depth of only 5 feet.

According to PMAJ. Jade Macaraeg, Chief of Police for Laoac, the incident was reported to their station around 5:30 PM.

The victim, identified as Salvador Baltazar Aquino, was discovered lifeless at the bottom of the swimming pool by a cousin.

Despite attempts to revive him, there was no response.

He was immediately transported to Urdaneta District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Aquino, a resident of Laoac, was at the resort with his family and cousins at the time of the incident.

Investigations revealed that he had consumed alcohol prior to drowning.

Macaraeg urged resort owners to equip their facilities with life-saving devices to prevent such tragedies.

He also advised visitors to drink responsibly while enjoying their time at leisure spots.
