Authorities are searching for 26-year-old Fernan Bokingo, a resident of Purok 1, Brgy. Bobon, after he allegedly killed his live-in partner, Jolamae Ebale, a resident of Brgy. Maug, both from this city.

According to the suspect’s brother, Christopher Bokingo, a former barangay councilor, the couple frequently fought, with their altercations escalating into loud and violent confrontations at their home.

On Monday morning, Jolamae went to the barangay office to request a barangay protection order after a particularly intense argument.

Barangay officials responded by visiting the couple’s home, where they noticed Fernan’s presence, despite the restriction against him approaching Jolamae.

The officials requested Jolamae to leave the premises for her safety, but Fernan managed to enter the house before they could intervene.

When barangay officials, accompanied by police officers, re-entered the home, they found Jolamae’s lifeless body on the mattress, partially covered.

The victim had a wound on the back of her head, possibly inflicted by a blunt object, as a blood-stained piece of wood was discovered at the scene.

Police are still investigating how Bokingo carried out the murder.
