VP Sara Duterte: Committee’s Real Target Is Impeachment, Not Budget

Vice President Sara Duterte courageously faced the Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability, asserting that the hearing’s goal was to destroy her and the Office of the Vice President (OVP).

In her statement, VP Sara directly claimed that the privilege speech, which led to today’s hearing, lacked sufficient basis.

She further argued that the hearing was not about the misuse of funds, accountability, or governance but was aimed at damaging her reputation to hinder any future political contests.

VP Sara boldly stated that she leaves the 2025 OVP budget at the discretion of Speaker Martin Romualdez. She emphasized that she is not asking for any special treatment or traditional favors and insisted that no disrespect occurred.

Moreover, VP Sara firmly believes that the committee is not truly targeting the budget, but is rather aiming to build a case for her impeachment.
