The Valenzuela Regional Trial Court Branch 282 has approved Senator Risa Hontiveros’ request to allow dismissed Bamban mayor Alice Guo to attend the Senate hearing tomorrow, September 17, regarding the illegal operations of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) and other related issues.

According to the court order, Judge Elena Amano has directed the national police to escort Guo to the Senate by 9:00 AM. Strict security protocols have been mandated for the former mayor’s appearance.

Judge Amano is currently presiding over two graft cases against Guo, which were originally filed at Capas, Tarlac Regional Trial Court Branch 109. The case was transferred after jurisdictional questions arose, as Guo hails from the province.

Guo remains in detention for failing to post bail in connection with the violations of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.

Senator Hontiveros previously stated that Guo has much to explain during the hearing, emphasizing that she must be held accountable for her wrongdoings against the Filipino people.
