Unidentified Woman Killed After Being Hit by Van in Isabela

An unidentified woman died after being struck by a van in Barangay Sinamar Sur, San Mateo, Isabela.

The victim, estimated to be 50-60 years old, was wearing red shorts and a floral top, with noticeable white hair.

The van driver was identified as Alexander Kalaskas, a resident of Pangasinan.

According to information from the San Mateo Police Station, the van was traveling along the National Highway toward Apayao when the victim suddenly crossed the road, leading to the collision.

Due to the impact, the victim sustained severe injuries that caused her immediate death.

The van driver was unharmed and voluntarily surrendered to the police.

Because of the extent of the victim’s injuries, her face is unrecognizable. Authorities are urging anyone who may know her identity to inform the police.

Police suspect that the woman was a resident of a nearby barangay, as she was seen walking late at night carrying a plastic bag of tomatoes.

The victim’s remains are currently at a funeral home in San Mateo.
